Kiddie Land Amusement Park, Melrose Park, IL.

Standing under the water slide looking up to top platform. This Pipe feeds the Water Slide, when the pump shuts off, the water in this 16" pipe comes crashing down 30 feet and the first point of resistance it meets is a 22-1/2 degree PVC elbow.

This elbow separated from the pipe if not wrapped with Syntho-Glass this repair would have caused a delay in the parks opening last spring. Syntho-Steel 2 part Epoxy Putty was needed into a rope and laid into the gap of the ends where the pipe seats into the 22-1/2" elbow. After the Syntho-Glass cloth wrap was applied over the Syntho-Steel we let harden for 1/2 hour, then testing was done to make sure the pipe was bonded to the elbow with out any leaks throughout. The entire joint was sealed in concrete to hold it in position. Estimated Cost Savings compared to replacing this special size fitting was $2,000 not including the two weeks the slide would be shut down delaying the parks opening or limiting services offered at this amusement park!

It is important to keep the Syntho-Glass cloth wrap wet when applying more than one roll on large pipes it is helpful to have an assistant with a bucket of water and a wet rag.
